CLIENT BRIEF:
To create a solar heated ‘heart' shaped pool with a series of authentic Arabic style water features similar to those of Bab Al Shams Desert Resort.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Swimming Pool
- Organic heart shaped pool with Jade green ceramic tiles and gold ceramics as banding on steps.
- Spa equipment for wellness experience.
- Two in-water sun beds with air blowers offering bubble experience.
- In-water seating with four hydrotherapy jets providing a deep massage experience to the body.
- Under ground pool plantroom to house equipment
- Solar heating system installed on the roof, supplemented with a heat pump based heating and cooling unit to offer economical ‘year round' temperature control.
- Wall style water feature
- Pool lighting for visual aesthetics and night use.
- Pool net for safety.
Water Features
- Villa front entrance: Falaj* style water features finished with traditional Arabic render and marble tiling as facework. Built with basins, troughs, level changes, internal waterfalls, bubbler nozzles, bronze spouts, lighting and stepping-stones.
- Courtyard and entertainment area: High basin water source from foaming nozzles, falling once into lower basin, then twice into horizontally opposing falaj* structures. Water moving along traditional Arabic irrigation channel in to receiving basin, finishes as before. Small circulator water fountain with bubblers nozzle source. Finished with in-situ carved flagstones & river pebbles.
